My fixed price packages allow you to choose an option to suit your budget.  There are no hidden costs or expensive surprises at the end of the research. The Seedling, Sapling and Willow packages can all be upgraded as and when you wish.

Seedling:

A starter package where I will aim to trace your 4 grand-parents and 8 great grand-parents. Please allow 6 - 8 weeks for this research, but let me know if there is a special reason why you may need it sooner and I will do my best to produce something.

Sapling:

I will aim to trace one line of your family (either your father or mother) back to the early 1800s. This could be via your father, his father, his grand-father, great grand-father, gg grand-father etc. or via your mother, her father, her grand-father, great grand-father, gg grand-father etc. Tracing the female line requires more research so please contact me for a personal quote if you would like more information on this option. Please allow 2 - 3 months for this research, but let me know if you need it sooner

Willow:

I will aim to trace two lines of your family (your father and mother’s surnames) back to the early 1800s. The information provided is the same as for the Sapling package but for both lines.  Please allow 2 - 3 months for this research, but again let me know if you need it sooner.

This complete package where I will aim to trace four lines of your family (via your grand-parents) back to the early 1800s. The information provided is the same as for the Sapling package but for all four lines. Please allow 4 - 5 months for this research, but again let me know if you need it sooner.

What you get:

Whether you choose to receive your family history electronically or in a presentation pack, you will receive the same information:

• A written report giving details by generation of your family.  Where available this will include siblings but I cannot guarantee to list all siblings as many died young and would require a more detailed research to find. Click here to see a sample report.

•  A family tree. Click here to see a sample tree of a sapling package.

• Copies of all birth, baptism, marriage or death certificates I have used in the research. In the case of birth, baptism and marriage certificates these will include details of parents, addresses and often the father's occupation. Click here to see a sample.

• Copies of all census reports I have used in the research.  These will show all occupants of the household at the time together with relationships, addresses, ages, where they were born. Click here to see a sample.

• A report describing the occupation or daily life of one of your ancestors.  Click here to see a sample.

• Copies of any other documentation I've come across during the research.  These may include service records, wills, apprentice records etc.

• The history of the surname of one of your ancestors.  .

• Suggestions on how to take your research further.

• Where available, a copy of a map of the area where some of your ancestors lived. If you have ordered the presentation package you will also receive all the above on a CD at no extra cost.

• Optional extra - a gedcom file on a CD (£30) to enable you to upload all the details to family tree software or website in order to continue your research or share with other members of your family.

How to receive the research.

The bulk of the cost of the packages is in the time spent researching and the cost of purchasing certificates from the General Register Office (currently £9.25 each). However, in order to make the packages more flexible, I offer two alternatives so that you can chose the most convenient and cost effective for you.

Electronically. 

You can choose to receive your files by email.  The documents will be supplied as pdf files and all files will be compressed (zipped) and protected with a password. The password will be sent in a separate email to ensure security.  Depending on the number and size of the files produced, your package may be sent in more than one file.  You would then need to un-zip the files (instructions will be provided) and print out all documents. This option is of course cheaper as it eliminates the need to print documents at source, provide a folder and pay for the postage. It also enables you to print as many copies as you wish for family members or to email the package to them.  Any certificates (birth, marriages or death) purchased would be scanned and included to complete the package.  The originals would be sent to you in the post.

In a presentation folder.

If you prefer you may receive your tree in a presentation package which will include all reports and documentation printed on quality paper and your tree printed on parchment paper. This will also include all files on a CD at no extra cost.  If you choose the optional extra of a gedcom file, this will be included on a CD.  This option is ideal if you are commissioning the research as a gift
